"The City of Caral, located 182 kilometres North of Lima in the Supe Valley, is considered to be the most ancient in America, almost as ancient as Egypt, Mesopotamia, India and China. The City of Caral is formed by a group of edifications that allow us to witness the great scientific, technological and artistic advances its people achieved; an amazing process of development that took place under a total isolation in opposition to the cultural exchange of the societies of the old continent, surprising scientists and foreigners who come to visit and have become this magnificient place the second most visited tourist destination in Perú after Machu Picchu… and then we will visit the lovely city of Huacho, its main plaza and its surroundings!"

ITINERARY:
07:00 a.m. Early in the morning pick up from the Hotel. We leave from Lima and we take the north Pan-American highway until arriving to the Km. 182 (4 hours approx).
10:00 a.m. In our way to Caral we will enter for a trail in a road where we will cross canals, little rivers, plantations characteristic of the place, accompanied by the flora and typical fauna of the place (turtupilines in abundance).
11:00 a.m. Arrival to the city of Caral. Guided tour inside This historical treasure. We will be able to appreciate the macroscopic images of the place, then accompanied by an archaeologist we will visit the different constructions : 6 monumental pyramids, in two of those we can realize the architectural distribution of the first Peruvian civilization and of America. These constructions have an amphitheater, furnaces of offerings in circular form, central squares, residential areas and religious centers.
Caral is the oldest city in the Americas and is regarded as an integral part in changing the history of Peru since its discovery in 1994. The city is built over 5,000 years ago, iis not only the oldest city in the Americas but also third overall after Mesopotamia and Egypt, followed by China and India.
The Caral civilization was ruled by a hierarchical system with differences in rank and position in society; this is evidenced in the unequal distribution of wealth and occupational roles. In this tour we will be able to see how this system influenced the Caral way of life when they tour the residential and public housing areas, pyramids, sunken circular plazas, temples, altars, and more.
01:30 p.m. We continue with a little tour to the town of Huacho. Typical Lunch (not included).
03:30 p.m. Return to Lima
06:30 p.m. Arrive to your Hotel. End of our services.
